Thread Veins & Spider Veins
Also known as “spider veins” or “broken capillaries”, thread veins are small clusters of red or blue veins which most commonly appear on the face or legs. These types of veins are harmless and do not bulge out from the skin, however some people may find them to be unsightly and give their complexion an overall red tone. This skin condition can often be mistaken as ‘rosacea’, as it also can appear as redness all over the cheeks.
Thread Veins can occur over time due to the ageing process and sometimes in younger people. Thread veins can also be genetic so therefore if members of your family have them, you may find that you are more likely to develop them over time. Another cause of broken capillaries is from skin trauma, which can be inflicted from squeezing spots, from alcohol intake or from climate changes. If you have this skin concern, it is important to avoid further touching or stretching the skin around them to prevent further thread veins from occurring. We also find that a common area for thread veins is the thighs and back of your legs. If you have them on your legs, try not to sit still for long periods of time as it is important to keep your blood circulation actively going as much as possible.
If you are bothered by the appearance of your thread veins, our Thermavein treatment is incredibly effective at permanently removing them through the process of thermo-coagulation which seals the vein walls, causing them to disappear. We offer Thermavein from £200.
