Stubborn Fat
Stubborn fat can be an incredibly frustrating body concern. Many of us have an area on our body where stubborn fat likes to accumulate, which we can often find harder to shift.
One of the most obvious ways to reduce stubborn fat is to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. Despite this, as you cannot spot reduce fat, it can take a long period of time for your overall body fat to reduce significantly before you notice a dramatic result, particularly in the areas of stubborn fat.
In the majority of cases, the stubborn fat we are concerned about is subcutaneous fat, a.k.a., the fat just underneath our skin, rather than the visceral fat which is around our organs. Different factors such as your age, genetics and even your gender can determine where your body stores its’ excess fat. The female hormone estrogen and the male hormone testosterone play a huge part in the storage and accumulation of body fat. Women typically are more pear-shaped and store the most fat around the thigh and buttocks, whereas men are usually more apple-shaped and often store their excess fat in the stomach area. In addition to this, women on average have between 6 to 11% more body fat than men, due to female body’s being prepared for child birth.
As stubborn fat can be very persistent and hard to get rid of, you may be considering what aesthetic treatments are out there to help get rid of it quickly… the answer is Aqualyx and 3D Lipo!
Whilst both treatments work to break down excess fat, they use different methods to do so.
Aqualyx consists of a series of injections into a targeted area. These injections contain a fat dissolving agent, which works by breaking down the fat cells and turning them into a soluble form. This allows fat cells to be easily eliminated by the body over a series of weeks after the treatment.
3D Lipo on the other hand uses advanced technology to treat stubborn fat, loose skin and cellulite. There are four different processes within the 3D Lipo treatment that you can choose from, depending upon your concern and treatment goals.
For eliminating stubborn fat, the methods of Cryolipolysis or Cavitation can be used. Cryolipolysis works by “freezing” the fat cells, which causes them to die off and be removed from the body. Cavitation uses low frequency radiation to permanently destroy the fat cells. We often see significant results after one session, however we do recommend repeat treatments in order to achieve the best results.
