A.Diamond microdermabrasion is performed using a handheld device which contains a small tip covered in diamonds to perform skin exfoliation. As the diamond tip is moved across the skin, it exfoliates the top layers of the skin’s epidermis whilst the vacuum sucks up the loose, dead skin cells that have been removed. Your skin responds as if it has had “trauma” and sends new cells to the surface to replenish what is being removed. These new skin cells are much healthier, improving the clarity, elasticity and texture of your skin.

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin treatment that improves a multitude of skin concerns. Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation that goes beyond the skins’ top surface (epidermis). The device used for the treatment contains tiny diamonds and a vacuum which works to remove the top layer of skin cells. A.This will depend on the skin concern being treated, however, we normally recommend courses of 6-12 sessions to start. Our skin, however, will continue to age and become exposed to harmful pollutants and sun damage. Microdermabrasion treatments can be performed weekly. If you wish to have a mandelic peel added to your microdermabrasion treatment, these can be performed fortnightly.
A.Microdermabrasion is relatively painless with very little discomfort caused. Microdermabrasion is one of the safest and most cost-effective treatments. There is very little downtime and often you can get on with your normal daily routine immediately after. Your skin may be slightly red and very mildly sensitive immediately after but this will settle very quickly. There is a small chance of very mild bruising and dryness to the skin.
