Micro-needling is the process of sticking needles into your face in an attempt to make it look younger. Sound painful? It’s not. It’s become a well-known non-invasive procedure that effectively reduces the signs of aging.
The youthful glow you get on your face after a facial only lasts for a few days but the effects of micro-needling last much longer. The procedure may not be as relaxing as a facial but it definitely breathes life into your face by reducing dullness and fine-lines.
What is it exactly?
Micro-needling is the process of lightly piercing your face with a bunch of tiny microneedles to induce the production of collagen. The device used to carry out the process is called Dermapen.
The Dermapen roller consists of 11 miniscule needles. The sizes of these needles will be adjusted by your skin therapists between 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. In order to penetrate the outermost layer of the skin, needles just need to be 0.5mm thick.
How it works
Micro-needling is essentially a collagen induction therapy. Our body treats small wounds the same way it treats larger wounds – it produces collagen to repair the damage. Micro-needling involves creating micro-punctures (small wounds) in the face. Our body assumes that our face has suffered from an injury and stimulates the production of collagen.
The increased collagen plumps the skin, removing fine lines and reducing wrinkles. It also helps fade acne scars and age spots.
Who is it for?
If you’re face has been looking lifeless due to aging or chronic fatigue or stress then micro-needling is for you.
People with acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles and dull skin can all benefit from micro-needling. It breathes life into a face that has lost its glow over the course of years.
Is it painful?
It’s fair to ask if the process is painful because after all it does involve piercing your face with needles. To reduce pain, numbing cream is applied on the face which allows the skin therapist to go deep into the skin’s top layers.
How often does it need to be done?
The frequency of micro needling depends on the heath of your skin. If your skin is generally healthy, you can go in for micro-needling appointments every 3-6 months. People with acne scars should get micro-needling done once every month for 3-4 months.
Simply Clinics lets you get the most out of micro-needling by offering affordable prices for the procedure. You can book appointments for single sessions of micro-needling or go for out three sessions/six sessions packages.
