Dull Skin
Dull skin is a common skin concern for many when coming into the clinic. Although it can be difficult to spot, it’s a sign that your skin is stressed and in need of further treatment. Dull skin can be caused due to a build-up of excess dead skin cells which are sitting on the skin’s surface. This in turn gives the skin a dull and lack-lustre appearance and can sometimes cause a bumpy or rough texture to the skin.
The concern of dull skin can sometimes be caused by skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, which can contribute to the amount of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. As our skin matures over time, our skin cell renewal process slows down, meaning that it has to work harder to slough away the dead skin cells. In addition to this, due to the ageing process, our skin produces less oil, therefore making it appear less glowy and radiant. If you have dull skin, you should ensure that you are thoroughly removing your makeup before you go to sleep to prevent further dead skin cell build up. It is also important to continue to exfoliate in order to remove the dead skin cells, which in turn can leave your skin looking more radiant.
A great treatment that we offer at the clinics is Microdermabrasion, which gently removes the top layer of the skin and helps to deeply exfoliate the skin’s surface, leading to glowy, radiant skin and an overall improved complexion.
