Microdermabrasion vs microneedling, which one is right for you? Both are hugely popular treatments in the beauty world and produce great results for improving the texture and appearance of the skin. But microdermabrasion vs microneedling, which one to choose? Hopefully the following information will help you decide which one is best suited for you…

Microdermabrasion:

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasion treatment designed to deeply exfoliate the skin from the top down, featuring a vacuum device that contains diamonds- maybe diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all?!

The device removes the top layer of the skin cells to stimulate new skin growth, which leaves it appearing fresh and rejuvenated. This can be used as a standalone treatment or combined in conjunction with chemical peels or even alongside microneedling to tackle more serious skin concerns.

What’s microdermabrasion suitable for?

  • Blackheads
  • Open pores
  • Mild Acne
  • Dull Skin
  • Age spots
  • Fine Lines/Wrinkles

How long does it take and does it hurt?

The treatment takes 30-45 minutes, with sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart based on the concern. Results are visible after the first session, but multiple treatments enhance them.

Mild discomfort may occur, though numbing cream can be used. Redness and sensitivity may last up to 48 hours.

Pricing:

Costs start from just £40 per session however we recommend a course of 6 treatments initially to successfully tackle your skin concerns. Check out more information here.

Microneedling:

Microneedling may sound intimidating due to the “needle” aspect, but we can assure you it’s not as scary as it sounds! The treatment involves a device that creates tiny punctures in the skin to trick it into thinking it is injured which therefore triggers the body’s response to repair itself. It then repairs as brand new, glowing skin!

At Simply Clinics the device we use is the Dermapen 3 which looks exactly like that- a pen!

In turn, this leads to “new skin” being created that is younger and richer in collagen and elastin, which are great at giving that healthy and youthful skin appearance. Here’s some amazing results we’ve had from our microneedling treatment:

With this treatment we are also able to infuse certain essential ingredients (e.g. Hyaluronic Acid) into the tiny punctures of the skin through a technique called Mesotherapy. This technique allows the ingredients to be absorbed more efficiently to the skin, rather than just applying topically to the surface like we do with serums.
