It’s no secret that as we age, we lose some of the plumpness and volume in our skin that we once had. Did you know that even by the young age of 25, your skin stops producing as much collagen as it once did? This is a reason why anti-wrinkle injections are becoming increasingly popular amongst younger age groups, who are trying to preserve their wrinkle-free skin for as long as possible. Despite this, having anti-wrinkle injections in a skin care clinic can only do so much. Anti-wrinkle injections are amazing at smoothing out the wrinkles and preventing more from forming in that area, however unlike dermal fillers, they cannot plump the skin and add volume to the face. Here’s how dermal fillers can be used for anti-ageing purposes, to refresh and rejuvenate your look.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a type of cosmetic injectable, which are used to enhance volume and augment the shape and size of certain facial features. The most common type of dermal fillers that are used today, are those which contain hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like substance which is naturally occurring in the body and is found in connective tissues and cartilage. It is the perfect ingredient for dermal fillers, as it gives an influx of hydration to the area and is able to seamlessly boost volume as well, making it an effective product to mask signs of ageing. All fillers that are made with hyaluronic acid are temporary and are broken down by the body over time.
All of our dermal filler and injectable treatments at Simply Clinics are carried out by Doctor Youssef Haffar, who has over eight years of experience performing aesthetic treatments. For more information about how dermal fillers work, check out this blog post.
Our dermal filler prices start from £250 for 1ml.
Tear Trough Filler
Having dark circles and hollowness under the eyes can be one of the main issues that people face as they get older (and possibly get less sleep!). As the skin beneath the eyes is very thin, it has a tendency to look darker, which can make you look tired and sometimes unwell. As we age we also lose volume under the eye and around the cheeks, which can often contribute to a hollowing effect in the under-eye.
By adding a small amount of under eye filler, it can help to smooth out these hollows to provide a refreshed and rejuvenated look, as seen in the picture above. You can read this blog post to find out more about our tear trough treatment at Simply Clinics.

Cheek Filler
The cheeks are another area which are prone to volume loss as we get older. Those chubby cheeks that we once hated as a child are now one of the most sought after features in the aesthetic world today! Everyone is familiar with Kendal Jenner’s cheekbones – and this is the look so many clients are after.
When volume is lost from the cheeks, it can sometimes give a thinner and sunken look to the face, which can contribute to an aged appearance. By adding dermal filler into the cheeks, it helps bring back structure to the face and gives you a more youthful look. Reduced volume in the cheek area can also make the hollows of the eyes look worse, so by adding a small amount of dermal filler here, it can also help to support the under-eye area.
Naso-Labial Folds
The naso-labial folds are the lines which run from the sides of the nose, down to the corners of the mouth. These lines are often more prominent when we smile, however as we age, the lines can often be noticed when the face is at rest. Due to the repeated movement of the face and smiling, over time these lines can become quite deep set.
Adding a hyaluronic acid based filler to this area helps to smooth out these depressions and give them a softer appearance, as seen in the before and after picture above. Check out this video, which shows how Doctor Haffar performs his naso-labial folds treatment with dermal filler!
Lip Filler
Lip filler is a treatment which is popular with clients of all ages. Despite this, due to the decrease in collagen levels in the skin as we age, the lips can appear thinner, flatter and less hydrated than they once were. Lip filler is incredible at boosting hydration in the lips as well as improving their volume and shape. As you can see from the image above, this client’s lips appear smoother with increased definition around the cupids bow and with more volume in the body of the lips.
