What is Chemical Peel?
Skin peels are chemical exfoliants that remove the dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin.
Once the dead layer of the skin surface has been removed, the fresh new skin cells beneath are revealed. The peel’s action also encourages faster cell renewal.
We use Obagi Chemical peels that combine salicylic, lactic, and glycolic acids for fantastic skin rejuvenation.
How can a skin peel help my skin concerns?
Chemical peel treatment can help several skin concerns by improving the skin texture and tone.
Ageing skin
As we mature, the turnover of new skin cells slows down, often leading to a lack of radiance and uneven skin tone.
Chemical peels remove the dull top layer of aged skin, revealing brighter skin and reducing the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Acne scarring
Acne breakouts often leave scars, which you can improve with a chemical peel.
The treatment removes the top layer of damaged skin, resulting in a smoother surface.
Sun damage and age spots
Increased cell turnover reduces discolouration, and the exfoliating effect of the skin peel treatment reduces rough skin texture.

Is chemical peel treatment suitable for all skin types?
You can adjust the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance skin peel to provide either a light peel for brighter skin or a deeper peel to remodel skin affected by deep acne scars.
How many chemical peel treatments will I need?
The number of skin peels you will need depends on your skin tone and texture and the results you want to achieve.
One lighter peel can enhance normal skin’s radiance, while achieving optimal results for skin with ice-pick scars from severe acne may require up to six deeper peels.
Your therapist will discuss your treatment plan at your free consultation.

Is any downtime needed after chemical peels?
You may experience some skin redness after your chemical peel.
Flaking skin is also completely normal and is part of the healing process after deep peels.
Skin care after a peel treatment
Your skin will need a little extra care after your chemical peel. We advise the following:
- Avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks and use sun protection at all times
- Apply a simple, light moisturiser if your skin feels dry
- Do not rub or scrub your face when washing
- Do not use active skin care products like AHA or BHA for twenty-four hours.
You can be sure of excellent results from your chemical peel with some extra care.
Are chemical peels painful?
Chemical skin peels are not painful.
You may experience a warm or tingling sensation as the peel solution is applied, but there will be no discomfort or pain.
How quickly will I see an improvement in my skin after a chemical skin peel?
Once any skin redness or peeling has subsided, you will be delighted with your skin’s fresher, smoother appearance.
How long do the benefits of a peel last?
The benefits should last about six weeks, but this will depend on how many chemical peels you have had as the effect gets better every time.
Your therapist will tell you what to expect at your free consultation.
