Cryopen treatment in north London
At some point in our life, most of us will see tiny lumps or bumps forming on the surface of the skin. These skin imperfections, also known as skin lesions, are mostly harmless, but can become annoying. With Cryopen treatment in north London, we can safely remove skin imperfections.
But what are the types of skin imperfections? The most common skin lesions include warts, verrucas, skin tags and sun spots. These are benign skin lesions that can become permanent, but thanks to technology are easy to treat.
At Simply Clinics, we use a freezing treatment known as Cryopen to help treat skin lesions quickly and without pain. With our expert practitioners, you’ll see your warts, skin tags or verrucas gone for good in as little as 15 minutes.
What is Cryopen treatment?
We’ve probably all heard someone talk about how to freeze skin concerns such as warts and verrucas. Well, Cryopen (also known as Cryotherapy) does exactly that. It’s a medical procedure that uses freezing to help remove benign skin lesions such as skin tags, sun spots and warts.
Cryotherapy uses pinpoints of high pressure nitrous oxide gas to target benign lesions on the surface of the skin. The nitrous oxide gas ejects at an extremely cold temperature to freeze and destroy your skin lesions.
The targeted cells are the only parts of the skin affected by the temperature drop from the Cryopen. This means that, not only is Cryotherapy a great way to treat lesions, but it does so without causing harm to healthy tissue.
How does Cryopen work on benign skin lesions?
During your Cryotherapy treatment, nitrous oxide gas ejected from the Cryopen will quickly freeze your benign skin lesions. This results in your treated cells crystalising, which destroys the benign tissue. This treatment is relatively pain free. You may experience a slight stinging sensation from the temperature drop when the nitrous oxide gas hits your benign lesions.
What are the main benefits of Cryotherapy?
There are several benefits to Cryotherapy which include:
- The treatment time is short (sometimes as little as 15 minutes)
- Pinpoint accuracy in the treated area without damaging surrounding tissue
- Safe to use on the face and near the eye area
- Treats various benign and superficial lesions

What happens after Cryotherapy treatments?
After your treatment, you may notice that your skin looks darker or more red in the area treated. On rare occasions, you may develop a blister up to 24 hours after treatment, which can take a few days to heal.
You will see a crust form over the treated cells. This is completely normal and should fall off around 10-14 days post treatment. Your skin may appear lighter or pink in colour after this, but it will return to normal in a few weeks.
Are the results permanent?
Many of our patients find that their lesions disappear after one treatment. If you have more complex lesions, you may require more than one treatment session. If you’re prone to certain lesions such as skin tags, you may notice these start to appear in other areas.
When you attend our clinic for your consultation, we will talk through your skin concerns and develop a tailored treatment plan. This will help us ensure you achieve the best results from your Cryotherapy treatment.

How much does it cost?
How much your Cryopen treatment will cost depends on the number of lesions you’re looking to have treated. You may need a course of treatments to achieve the results you want. Below is an example of the costs of Cryotherapy treatment:
- One lesion costs £50 per treatment
- 11-15 lesions cost £200 per treatment
