Cellulite is something that the majority us will struggle with in our lifetime. With edited/ photoshopped images all over social media showing perfectly smooth skin, we know how it can feel when you look in the mirror and don’t look the same as the models and influencers you see online.

It’s important for us to point out that cellulite is completely normal and natural. 90% of women have some cellulite on their body – it is completely normal, and does not mean there’s something wrong! Although this condition is more common in women, anyone can have cellulite; men and women of all shapes, sizes and ages – even babies! However, if its appearance is affecting your confidence, then we have listed some treatments below on how you can reduce it.

So what is cellulite and what causes it?

Cellulite is caused by a build-up of fatty cells beneath the skin’s surface. This causes the appearance of an uneven surface and is commonly seen on the hips, thighs, glutes and breasts.

Cellulite can become more visible as we age, due to the skin losing elasticity and becoming thinner. You can also experience more cellulite during pregnancy and also after weight gain.

While it is an extremely hard condition to get rid of completely, there are ways to reduce the appearance of it, making the skin look much smoother.

Cellulite treatments

3D Lipo

One of the most effective treatments at targeting cellulite is through 3D Lipo. This is a non-surgical alternative to Liposuction and is effective at treating cellulite by Cryolipolysis. A process which freezes the fat causing a 40% reduction in fat cells. Whilst the typical liposuction treatment requires a lot of vigorous exercise post-treatment to metabolise fat cells, with 3D-Lipo you can achieve the results without having to do vast amounts of exercise post-procedure. This treatment can also be used to target fat and loose skin.

Is it a safe treatment?

3D Lipo is a completely safe treatment and does not pose any of the risks that you might have with surgery (liposuction). The majority of people find it a comfortable treatment. There are very few side effects and you can often continue with your day as normal. Sometimes you may experience some mild discomfort or redness/numbness for a short time after.

How can I get started?

All you need to do is complete our medical declaration form to ensure you are suitable for this treatment. Our therapist will then advise you on the best treatment plan and you can begin immediately.

Aqualyx

Another treatment that we offer which is primarily for fat loss is Aqualyx. This treatment can help to shift stubborn body fat and help to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

How does it work?

This treatment works by completely dissolving localised fat in a safe and sterile manner using injections and in some circumstances, in combination with external ultrasound. Aqualyx is able to dissolve these fat cells through a process called ‘cavitational adipocytolysis’. The substance within the Aqualyx product dissolves the fat cells, turning them into a soluble substance which is then able to be flushed out by the body over time.

How quickly will I see results?

You will see results after just one session, however, to achieve desired results we recommend that clients have at least 3-5 sessions of Aqualyx.

Are the results permanent?

Results from Aqualyx treatment are permanent as the treatment includes a complete dissolving of fat cells. However, lifestyle and environmental factors can affect how long your treatment lasts. To sustain the results of the Aqualyx treatment, we recommend you maintain a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a nutritious, balanced diet.
