Microneedling Southgate
Medically reviewed by Dr Youssef
If you are looking for a multipurpose treatment that will improve the condition of skin affected by ageing, scarring, pigmentation, and more, microneedling in Southgate is for you.
Microneedling helps your skin produce new collagen giving you smoother, firmer, more toned skin. We use it at our skin clinic in Southgate to treat enlarged pores, acne scars, stretch marks, pigmentation, and scarring on the body and the face.
Call Skin Clinics Southgate today for more details of this highly effective treatment.
What is microneedling?
At Simply Clinics Southgate, we use a small treatment device called a Dermapen. The Dermapen contains 12 fine needles, and as the device is moved over the skin, the needles make tiny puncture wounds. Your body rushes to repair the damage, flooding the area with those skin saviours, elastin and collagen. The piercing is too fine to cause scarring, so the skin treated simply benefits from the extra collagen and elastin. The treated area will look plumper and fresher, and blemishes like small scars and stretch marks will begin to look smoother.
At Simply Clinics, we offer our clients the opportunity to give the rejuvenating effect of microneedling an extra boost by introducing premium beauty products into the skin through the tiny holes created by the Derma pen during the process. We call this additional process mesotherapy, and our clients at the Southgate clinic love the smooth, fresh skin it gives them.
What can Dermapen do for me?
Microneedling can help a wide range of skin conditions on both the face and body as it stimulates your body’s own healing process. The Dermapen cannot be used on active acne but will help to smooth out acne scars. It will also help with enlarged pores, pigmentation, and scarring. Many of our Southgate clients are delighted with the results of microneedling on the stretch marks that we can all accumulate on the arms, breasts, stomach, and thighs during puberty, pregnancy, and as our weight fluctuates.
Is microneedling at our Southgate clinic painful?
We understand that needles are an issue for some people but don’t let that get in the way of experiencing the marvellous skin benefits of microneedling. The needles are tiny and mainly concealed within the device. Our therapists will make the whole experience very relaxing for you. Skin numbing creams are used to treat the area, and our clients report minimal discomfort during the procedure. A microneedling session usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
When will I see the results of this skin rejuvenating treatment?
Initially, your skin may be a little red as your body pumps healing agents into your skin, however, this will soon subside.
Some clients see the effects immediately, but it may take several sessions depending on the nature of your skin issue. You may need a course of treatment to treat large areas and to achieve complete results on areas of pigmentation, widespread acne scars, or stretch marks.
Your body’s healing response will continue to mature for about two years after the treatment, so your skin will keep getting better and better.
Microneedling is highly effective but sadly cannot halt the ageing process entirely! Mature skins may need regular treatments to maintain a youthful glow.
