Why waxing in Chelsea is best for hair removal

Waxing has been around forever and with good reason.

It’s quick, effective, and long-lasting as the hair is removed from the follicle entirely rather than being cut like shaving.

Unlike shaving, wax doesn’t produce itchy stubble after a few days, and there’s no danger of nasty razor nicks.

How long does waxing take?

Treating a small area like the chin or brows may take as little as 15 minutes.

Larger areas like the chest, arms or back will take longer.

How long will I stay hair-free after waxing?

The speed of regrowth varies widely. It may take as many as four sessions for all your hair to be caught in an active phase, so initially, you may find patches of regrowth after a week or so.

However, once this initial phase is finished, most clients have waxing in Chelsea every four weeks or so.

Once you have been having waxing hair removal for a while, regrowth may become slower and softer, giving you silky smooth skin even longer.

Is waxing painful?

The discomfort during waxing is minimal.

Our hair removal experts work so quickly that although your wax treatment may not be entirely pain-free, it will be over very quickly!

Will my skin be sore after waxing at the Chelsea clinic?

Your skin may feel a bit sensitive and look pink after your treatment. After waxing, we use a post-wax lotion on clients, which soothes the skin. Any after-effects from waxing will soon disappear with a few precautions.

We always advise clients to treat the skin gently after waxing. It is best to avoid rubbing the area or exposing it to heat sources like hot showers, baths and sun beds.

The chemicals in deodorants and perfumes may also cause skin irritation if used while your skin is still sensitive.

Waxing services at Simply Clinics in Chelsea

We offer our clients a choice of warm or hot wax.

The warm wax or strip wax technique involves spreading a thin layer of warm wax on a small section of skin and then quickly pulling it off. This pulls the whole hair shaft out of the hair follicle.

The hot wax method uses wax at a temperature that is higher but still comfortable for the skin. The wax is applied and left on the skin to cool and contract. The heat of the wax opens the pores allowing for easier removal of the hairs.

Hot wax is preferred for waxing intimate areas.

Do I need to prepare for my waxing in Chelsea?

The unwanted hair to be removed must be a certain length so the wax can catch it.

We advise clients to allow their hair to grow to at least 2 -3 mm if they are having an intimate treatment like a Hollywood wax. Hair can be 3-4 mm in length for other parts of the body.

We can’t use wax on irritated skin, so please don’t sunbathe or use a sunbed for at least 24 hours before your waxing appointment.

How much does waxing cost at Simply Clinics Chelsea?

Wax treatments vary in price depending on the area being treated, but they start at around £6 for the upper lip.
