Why waxing in Southgate is best for face and body hair removal
Our Southgate clients love waxing and prefer it to shaving for several reasons.
Waxing pulls the hair out by the roots, meaning the benefits last longer than shaving. Some of our clients have to shave their body hair every day to maintain smooth skin, but waxing can give silky, hair-free skin for weeks.
Over time, waxing reduces the density of the hair, and you can expect regrowth to become softer. When hairs grow back after shaving, they can be prickly and uncomfortable, even causing rashes and irritation.
Finally, although waxing may make your skin look pink for a few hours, you will never experience shaving nicks again!
Waxing services at Simply Clinics in Southgate
Your therapist will offer a choice of two waxing methods – hot wax or warm wax.
Warm wax
We spread a thin layer of wax in a strip over the area with unwanted hair. Once you press the wax strip into the skin, quickly pull it off to remove the hairs. Warm wax works best for body hair and is commonly used for leg waxing at our Southgate clinic.
Hot Wax
Your therapist will use the hot wax technique for the bikini line, face and underarms, as it is more comfortable for these sensitive areas.
Is waxing painful?
Waxing can sting when the wax is pulled off the skin, but the sensation is over in a moment.
Our therapists are so skilled that they will keep you relaxed and comfortable throughout your hair removal treatments.
Is aftercare required for the skin after waxing?
Your skin may be sensitive after waxing and could look a little flushed.
These after-effects will soon disappear, and we give our Southgate clients the following advice to calm their skin:
- Treat your skin gently after waxing, and avoid rubbing or scratching the treated area
- Don’t expose your skin to hot showers, baths and sun beds as this creates more warmth in the skin
- Avoid using deodorants and perfumes for a few hours as they may also cause skin irritation while your skin is extra sensitive
- Take advantage of the soothing post-waxing lotion that your therapist will offer you.
How long does a waxing session last?
The length of your waxing appointment will depend on how long the wax has to be warmed and the size of the area to be treated.
Waxing a small area on the face, like the brow or chin, may only take 15 minutes, but a larger area, like the back or legs, will take longer.
How often will I need waxing at the Southgate clinic to stay hair-free?
When you first start having waxing sessions for hair removal, you may find that patches of regrowth appear after a week or so.
Hair growth occurs because each hair must be removed during its active phase to prevent rapid regrowth. Since hairs have individual growth cycles, it’s impossible to catch them all at once.
After about four treatment sessions, you’ll capture all hairs during their most active phase, leading to approximately a month of hair-free skin.
The regrowth speed may slow with time, and the returning hairs will be less dense and softer.
How much does waxing treatment cost at Simply Clinics Southgate?
